Hello, everyone!

Leaving my blog (for a while, maybe)

April 30th, 2007 by jezpretty

I’ve been blogging into another blog site (not multiply) since the 20th of April. I currently have only 3 blog readers at my so-called Secret Blog since I have decided not to make the url public.

If you wish to be my ka-secret, send me a personal msg and I’ll give you my (secret) blog’s url :)

(hopefully) coming back to this blog,

Jez

Jia_lupao_006Btw, I had my braces na pala last saturday :)

bbye nyumnyums :’(

April 16th, 2007 by jezpretty

Today would possibly be the last day on which my taste buds as well as my tummy would be satisfied. Shame on my ortho/ dentist. Ha-ha. He would be putting molar separators on my (well, obviously) molars at around 2 in the afternoon. I had worn my orthodontic appliances for 10months (for my gums and jaw) in preparation for latter’s bloody event! (my sis, who already had braces last year, told me it’s SERIOUSLY painful). Anyway, I’m crossing my 10 fingers all in once for that.

I don’t know if later, I would have the same courage I had when I decided to give my hair a cut. Honestly, I would rather have a haircut every month my whole life than to lye on a dentist chair and inflict such hopeless pains. ;-)

I’m pretty sure that I would also have my arms’ skin red after the process. Why? Well, I would precisely be clutching on them to divide the pain on my gums. (this is just a myth, btw)

I would miss eating good foods. I wouldn’t enjoy my fave restos much. I would miss Isdaan, Shakey’s, Pancake House, Dencio’s, Barrio Fiesta, Cabalen, Razon’s, and a bunch more. I’m in no doubt that I would be enjoying a glass of iced tea whenever we will be dining to these restaurants for the next few days, or weeks, or probably months. Awful :’(

crying out for justice,

jez

A tough decision (for greater looks)

April 13th, 2007 by jezpretty

It’s Friday the thirteenth (April 13, 2007) yet no unlucky thing gone my way. Today, I was able to overcome my fear of reinventing with myself.

Just this afternoon, after my sister,Hazel, and I went to Dr.Romualdo (our ortho/dentist) for our braces/ appliance check up, we went straight to David’s Salon.

On the way to the salon, I told my ate that I wouldn’t have my hair cut. I told her that I would just go with her, instead. So there, we agreed. But when we were already inside the salon, I quickly made-up that I would want a total hair-do shift.

With the help of Ms.Jane, I was able to get an all-new look.

Jez_new_haircut

More than six (6) inches of hair were cut from my tresses (OUCH!). I haven’t had a haircut for more than a year, actually. Anyway, I could remember that the last time I had a short hair like this was back when I was a High school freshman at MCMC.

It was a hard (but smooth) decision to have a very short hair like this, but believe me, there was a fulfilling feeling that came out of me after I had the hair cut. I finally was able to do a total change. I’ve always had a long, straight hair, and letting go of it added my self-confidence. Why? simply because I was tough enough for it :)

So, How do I look?

still in awe of my hair,

JRC Dance Team @ Pampanga

April 8th, 2007 by jezpretty

Thank God for the succesful presentation we had last April 4,2007 (Wednesday) during JRC Betis’ Evangelical Crusade. It was our way of ministering to the kapampangans (my kababayans).

JRC San Jose went there riding on 1 truck (ridden by mostly dancers), 2 vans, & 3 cars. 3 hours of travel were definitely worth the joy serving the Lord brings.

The dance was awesome and powerful. For a (quite) long time of leading and choreographing for JRC’s creative dance ministry, it was actually my first time to choreograph a dance set not only for those who are part of JRC Dance Ministry (more than half of tha dancers are not in the dance team) but for 36 young people. You may say that our dance "Soldier" included youth-boys, but well, that’s a different story. Anyway, going back, we prayed for it–really. It was definitely for the glory of God that shook Betis, Pampanga.

Anyway, sayang kasi the one holding the digicam (ate Lheng lagot) unbelievably wasn’t familiar with operating the cam so our dance was not put into record/video. What we had were just pictures after the performance and ministering. (That’s alright! We haven’t had face-changing actions, anyway ;)

Here are the makukulit and jolly dancers that I worked hard with:

Dancing Generation

March 29th, 2007 by jezpretty

Just last saturday, I was told that the JRC Dance Team was being invited to perform a number at Jesus Revival Church’s (Betis, Pampanga) Evangelical Crusade on April 4. It was quite a shock fro me, as the ministry’s leader.

Well, as they requested, we will be presenting a dance number entitiled "Sambahin Ka Yahweh". We actually have performed using this music several times already, but I guess the last time was back when I was still an elementary student. Ate Beth and ate Berna were our leaders/ choreographers that time.

Anyway, aside from the shock I had, I got excited, too. This time, I am the choreographer! weee… what a challenge. Well, God’s help and the assistance of people in the ministry, I doubt if we can’t do it better this time :) (Glory to God)

Day 1:

Last Sunday, during the regular service, I announced that the dance team is open for those who want to join on dancing Sambahin Ka Yahweh, an ethnic Philippine Christian dance number. To my surprise, there were 37 young people who attended the sort-of audition for the number. That Sunday afternoon, I asked all of them to try doing the patterns for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. I ended up having this list:

Luzon (Cordilleran):

-Czarina, Rian, Djez, Kath, Mich, Hijet, Joyce, Josephine

-Ian, Kelvin, Joseph, Julius

Visayas:

-Carol & Kim, Jessa & Joy, Melanie & Kevin, Jeza & Mac, Memen & Ram, Reg & Von, Editha & Gerald

Mindanao:

- Jenny (my best friend/ buddy), Donna, Anna, Vanj, Reina, Jez

- Bong, Giovan, Errol, Jett

Day 2 (Monday):

We were not able to have a practice kasi recognition ng St. John’s.

Day 3 (Tues):

After I passed my laboratory requirements, I, together with my buddy, went to ISPEAR to talk to the one in-charge on the costumes for rent. Well, luckily, hindi available. (haha) Next destination: OSA (SCS). Ayun, we were lucky again—wala. Haha

So ayun, after trying to inquire, diretso na sa church for the 4pm practice. We started late kasi wlang tao sa church, nka-lock. But anyway, our first practice was great nman. Medyo npagsbihan lang mga boys, but in general, it was alright J

Day 4 (Wed):
I went to the church at 4pm to practice with those who were assigned to be the Cordilleran people. Awww! It was awesome! Their part was great, I may say. Ang cute tlga. I even recorded our practice on video.. I’ll post the link next time.

Anyway, at 6PM, the Visayans and Mindanaoans came for the general practice. Eventually, we have almost finished the dance. Thank God!

Day5(Thurs):

I, together with my buddy (again), went to the public market para mgpatahi na ng costumes. Yes, hindi na kmi mgrerent :P

Anyway, the practice at 4pm for Mindanao was cancelled.

That’s all for now. I’ll be updating this entry next time. J

I <3 my ministry

March 17th, 2007 by jezpretty

As most of you know, I have been in our church’s creative dance ministry for almost 9 years now. Yes, that’s a long time. Maybe that’s also another reason why I love my ministry so much.

Many are called but few are chosen, and among the few, I am blessed to be hand-picked by God to be in the dance ministry.

Today, JRC attended a convention at Palayan City sponsored by Jesus Our Victory Church (Angeles, Pampanga). And one of the grreat things I’ve realized (thanks to the speakers) is that length isn’t a basis of being in a ministry. Actually, in other chances, length of being in a ministry can even make one’s service usual–a tradition. But even though a person is in a ministry for so long, he/she can revive his/her passion by refocusing.

Folks, I just have refocused my view. I loved my ministry more.

I do not want to offer God something traditional. I do not want to bring God a sacrifice that’s half-cooked.

Dance ministry is such a prestigious and precious gift from God.

Being in any ministry is a privilege. No one shall ever take his ministry for granted.

Service for the Lord has never been very easy. It always include sacrifice, obedience, and a full heart.

I love my ministry with all my heart as I love my Father with all I am.

God bless you and may you be inspired to love your ministries more :)

I now know the meaning of ‘BUSY’

March 2nd, 2007 by jezpretty

I’ve been supppppper busy for the past 2 weeks.
Believe it or not, for 14 days, I havn’t had more than 5hrs of sleep daily.
Im excited na tonight kasi everything’s alright already. I can have a bonding session with my bed! :)

Well why have I been busy?
Well, first, since im in the council and our college celebrated its annual college festival (for two weeks), super busy due to the activities. I go home at around 8 PM daily! …good thing my dad’s eveready to fetch!

The activity I organized was the Thanksgiving service. Hayyy!! God is so great talaga.. I invited our church’s youth band (with our worship pastor, kahit hindi youth.hehe) to lead the doxology and worship. It was soooo great! The service was held at the College of Arts and Sciences’ theater. There were a lot of good comments about it because according to them, it was the first time to have such service.
I also invited 3 pastors (ptr.gundran, ptr.gabasa, ptr.dela cruz) to preach and pray for the college& the students. They all had wonderful messages! Praise God for their lives.

On the other hand, while busy with some late exams, I was also working on my psychology research entitled "NEPG Scholars: Discriminated?". That took most of my time, actually. I had to work on my research double because my professor told me that if I could finish it by her given deadline, it will go through the elimination for the entries for the Psychology Congress. While busy with the research work (thesis, you may say), Im also busy rehearsing for our sections’ speech choir–that’s 70% of our 2nd term in English105.

Anyway, while busy with a lot of things, I still managed to take a break with my family last friday& saturday at Baguio city to witness Panagbenga’07.

But wait…Im not done yet. Im also busy with the Youth Ministry. We had a Youth net this evening, so that means we also had preparations for tonight’s affair.

Well, with all the sleepless (literally) nights, I still thank the Lord for His faithfulness to me.

My praise reports:

  • I praise God because even though organizing a huge thanksgiving service like that is very tiring (inviting speakers are of the greatest work!), the results are far better than have I have imagined!
  • I also thank God for keeping me healhty after all. I don’t take meals at time, or betteryet, never take them, but I’m healhty still (I promise I wont abuse it.) Also, even though I sleep late daily, I still dont experience seious illnesses (headache is the worst so far).
  • I give the Lord the glory because my reserch study won the 1st place during the Psychology Congress this afternoon! Glory to the King!
  • I especially thank the Lord for giving me wonderful people around.
I have my bestfriend, buddy jhen, who’s always there to support and love me through everything. Im so blessed for having her. She’s more than a bestfriend.
I thank the Lord for belonging to a caring and loving family. My mom and dad are always in support to me. They appreciate every little thing I achieve. The are always by my side to guide me throughout the circumstances of life. I love them. I love them so much. God is faithful and good!

Glory be all to Jesus!

Thank You LORD for a blessed week!
Im gonna have a full-blast rest tonight!haha..thank you Lord!

Also, I thank God for leading me to His path. I am glad I obeyed the Lord in studying in CLSU. I know I should have missed a lot of great things if I was in Baguio City the whole time, studying.

Lastly, I thank the Lord for all He has done.

Hallelujah! Our Emmanuel, our God who is always with us, reigns!

A Blessed New Year!!!!

the first guy i hated in college.

December 7th, 2006 by jezpretty

Last tuesday, I saw my college buddies- rjean, mariz, mon, harold, & diane. Ofcourse we had lots of stuffs to talk about.. I was teasing rjean with freeman, and mariz with darwin! haha..

But all my teasing payed off just in time.tsk.

While we were parting ways (i was about to go to the council meeting and they were about to go home), Rjean shouted "bbye manugue!". In return, I shouted "bbye miguel!". But then, Harold blasted with a loud shout (redundant!!!).. he screamed, "bbye mrs. *****el!"

I answered back with a soft voice saying "che…".

But before i could finish the word che, somebody at my back said "Narinig ko ‘yun…". When i looked back, oh goodness gracious! it was mr.m   *****el. (Let’s keep his name with mr.m).

Yes! Mr.M heard everything! He heard what harold shouted!

As i looked back, he was standing at my back. I also caught a glimpse of my college buddies laughing hardly. They too, didnt know that M was there the whole time.

Anyway, going back to M, i gave not a single word but a face full of shock. Maybe you are thinking that I like him or I actually admire him..i mean crush. But to clear everything,

N O !!! I do not. swear. I hated him since the first semester. My college buddies used to tease me with him or the other way around.. Why? tell you later.

Anyway, there..I just rushed to my friends and gave my reactions!

I didnt notice where M went. In fact, i do not want to notice him!

Then, when they left, I walked through the corridor going to the CASCC office. But i stopped to check Math department’s (glass) bulletin board. Guess what? i saw M at the glass.. He was walking toward my direction.

Argh!!! I walked a bit faster than the usual..I don’t know.. I just do not want to see nor talk to him. M is such a geek. Super ma-feeling. He thinks every girl likes him. He thinks he’s cute–he’s not. he thinks he’s smart (maybe a bit since i first met him at the regional school press conference)..but not so much that he can boast of it! He thinks he is something!     errrr…irritatingly proud.

Anyway, as I walked up the office, I again saw him.He was staring at me, giving a slap-worthy smile!! Argh!!!! "ang feeling!" i told myself. What does that smile mean? For me, it is a teaser smile. I don’t know. I just hated him more..grr….
